preeclampsia

Glossary definition--

preeclampsia
  A rapidly progressive and serious complication of pregnancy that affects both mother and child. This condition characterized by hypertension and the presence of protein in the urine. Symptoms include swelling, sudden weight gain, headaches, and changes in vision. See Pregnancy and Primary Lymphedema.
